Over thirty people waiting for a hospital bed at local facilities today

Just over thirty people are waiting at emergency departments in hospitals in the Shannonside Northern Sound region this morning. However, almost half of the total are waiting at the midlands regional Hospital in Mullingar where fifteen people are waiting for a bed.

The situation Sligo University Hospital has also significantly changed from last week  when the north-west’s main hospital experienced days of overcrowding last week, with just eight people waiting at its ED this morning. Five people are waiting at Cavan University hospital and four at Our lady of Lourdes in Drogheda.
