Following testing over the weekend of the 12th and 13th of February, last week, a total of 27 prisoners tested positive for the virus.

The Irish prison service has confirmed that an Outbreak Control Team has been established and the A Division has completed a first round of testing on Tuesday 15th February.

A statement issued to Shannonside Northern Sound this morning has now confirmed a total of 33 positive cases and as a result of the high detection rate, the second round of testing is scheduled for Tuesday 22nd February.
