Sligo hospital continues to suffer serious overcrowding today with 38 people waiting to be admitted to beds there.
24 people were being accommodated on trolleys in the Emergency Department this morning according to figures issued by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, while 14 people were on trolleys in various wards.
Other hospitals in the Shannonside Northern Sound region have low numbers of people waiting for admission today.
Eight people are on trolleys at Mullingar hospital today, with 6 in Cavan, and 5 at Portiuncula hospital in Ballinasloe.
Three people are waiting on trolleys at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.
