Padraig Pearses claimed their place in the Roscommon senior football final with a dramatic one point win over Clann Na nGael 1-11 to 1-10.
Lorcan Daly’s point in the third minute of injury time saw defending champions Pearses into the final and a meeting with St. Brigids on September 20th.
The sides were level at six points apiece at the break with a dramatic second-half coming to life when Emmett Kelly fisted a cross come shot into the Clann net on 33 minutes.
Niall Carty and Kelly added points from play but Clann fought back with two Ciaran Lennon free’s to make it 1-8 to eight points at the water break.
Nine minutes from time Donnie Shine rose above Pearses keeper Paul Whelan putting Clann ahead 1-9 to 1-8.
Shine added a point to give Clann a two point lead but Pearses drew level with a Ronan Daly point and Sean Ryan mark.
Three minutes into injury time Pearses won it, sealing their place in the final as Lorcan Daly sent the ball over the bar to give Pearses a 1-11 to 1-10 victory.
