Roscommon-Galway TD Claire Kerrane, from Sinn Fein, says department officials have told her they still hope to open the swimming pool by the end of March.

Some were closed for up to four days after low temperature and ice warnings were in place.

Three men, two in their 40s and one in his 30s were arrested but have since been released without charge, pending further investigation.

Motorist's are being urged to take alternative routes with the incident expected to affect traffic over the next hour.

The HSE says it will ease pressure on the Emergency Department.
