The Carrick on Shannon Chamber of Commerce believes the introduction of paid parking in parts of the town will have a positive impact on retail.
As of Monday October 3rd parking charges will come into effect on all on-street areas which includes Main Street and Bridge Street. The fees can be paid in cash or by card via meters located around the town with a maximum stay of 1 hour for 1 euro.
Leitrim County Council wish to advise that parking charges are being re-introduced in Carrick on Shannon town with effect from Monday 3rd October 2022.

Free parking will remain at the fire station, Quay and new town centre car park. President of Carrick-on-Shannon Chamber Colm McGrath says the new measures will hopefully benefit local retail especially coffee shops.
"People have the opportunity to park up for a few hours or so and then move on. It's to allow people to pop into the local retail shops, especially for retail and coffee shops that are under huge pressure at the moment with the cost of energy and supply chain issues they are suffering so hopefully this will help them out."
