A painting by a Roscommon artist has sold for €200,000 at auction.
Roderic O Conor painted Marine au Clair de Lune at the turn of the 20th century and it is widely regarded as one of his finest works.
The moonlit coastal scene on the Breton coast was put up for sale at an auction last night hosted by Adams with a guide price of between €150,000 - €200,000.

Four bidders expressed at the auction and the painting reached a fee of two hundred thousand euro including fees and was bought by an Irish bidder.
