Pakistani election candidate in Boyle faces discrimination during campaign

A Pakistani man, who is running in the local elections in Co Roscommon, says he has faced discrimination during his campaign.

Majid Ali is running as an Independent candidate in the Boyle local electoral area on Friday.

He came to Ireland from Pakistan 15 years ago, and runs a take-away in Boyle and is a taxi-driver.

Mr Ali, who lives in Ballaghaderreen, says he has faced discrimination by a minority of people in Ireland.

He says he has faced discrimination during his campaign also.
