Parents across the Shannonside region are being urged to avoid panic buying children's medicines during the ongoing shortage.
The number of medicines out-of-stock in Ireland has hit 247 with many antibiotics and over-the-counter medicines difficult for patients to source.
Roscommon Native and Pharmacist Sheena Mitchell says the issue is a short term one and hoarding will not help.
13 of the 247 medicines unavailable at the minute are on the World Health Organisation's "critical medicines" list.
The founder of Wondercare.ie and Castlerea native told Let's Talk that parents need only buy what they'll use:
'There is no need to hoard these issues are transient . If you do not have doses in the house at the moment do search online pharmacies who specialize in kids health that will have this available.
Don't go out panic buying and stocking up a two years supply on Calpol because this problem is going to be quick.
It is not going to last that long and you probably have some in the press.'
