Local patients have been left stranded after a community transport service was forced to cease operating.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that the Leitrim Community Car had run out of funding.
The Government has now been urged to intervene to save the local initiative.
The service is seen as a crucial means of transport for those travelling to hospital and other medical appointments across the country. Over 600 such trips have been made so far.
