People across Longford and Westmeath are being encouraged to participate in this year's "Giving Tree" initiative. Now in its second year, the "Giving Tree" provides people across the region the opportunity to help less fortunate children. The project comprises of gifts or donations being given to disadvantaged children at Christmas time.
The Hydrate-Alkaline Water and Wellbeing store in Ballinalack is running the special appeal this Christmas, with Saturday the 16th of December, the final day for the public to take part. Speaking on Let's Talk, Colin Galligan of Hydrate Alkaline Water and Wellness Store said that the initiative aims to revive the true spirit of giving:
