People around the country are being encouraged to do their own virtual ascent of Croagh Patrick this weekend in aid of three Irish charities associated with brain conditions.
The Sunrise Up Croagh Patrick has taken place for the past five years and so far it has raised more than €65,000 to help the associations in this country for Parkinson's, Huntington's, and Motor Neuron Diseases.
Because people can't gather physically to climb Croagh Patrick this year the group is asking people to do a 27,000 step challenge which is equal to the climb of the mountain.
Roscommon man John Kelly who founded the event says the families impacted by the three conditions need support now more than ever and everyone can help out by taking part in the challenge.
