People in the Shannonside region are being encouraged to go and get their flu vaccination if they're eligible.
It comes as the HSE launched their winter vaccination programme on Monday.
Free flu jabs are available to recommended groups while those aged over 65 and all aged 12 and over with a weak immune system are invited for their next COVID-19 Vaccine.
Specialist in public health care at HSE North West, Dr. Anthony Breslin, says a bad winter of flu and Covid could be ahead and it's important for people to avail of the vaccines.
"We think we could be in for a bad flu with Covid this year and that's why we are asking people and encouraging people, who usually get the flu vaccine, or should be getting the flu vaccine, to go and get it. And if they need to get the Covid booster, to go and get that too. People should also get the routine childhood vaccinations. They fell off slightly during Covid as well and we're asking parents to make sure their kids are up to date with the vaccines."
