A rally will take place in Ballaghaderreen this Sunday to protest ongoing public realm works in the town.
Roscommon County Council has confirmed the works will result in the loss of around 47 parking spaces in the town centre.
Of these, around 24 parking spaces in the town's square will be removed as part of the changes.
It comes following a number of protests by retailers over the works this week.
Retailers say the proposed changes to the streetscape will be detrimental to local businesses.
In a statement, the local authority described the project as a 'once in a lifetime transformational opportunity'.
It says the project must be delivered in accordance with plans that were presented publicly.
The local authority says it's committed to improving access and visibility at existing off-street parking in the town as part of the works.
Retailers will stage a protest rally in the town this Sunday at 3 o'clock.
