There are calls for more people to take up fostering children in the Shannonside region. Orchard Fostering based in Dublin, say that individuals and families from all walks of life, are needed to provide a safe and loving haven for children and young people in foster care.
Speaking to Shannonside FM, Christina who has fostered children over the past 6 years in the midlands region, says it's a very rewarding thing to do. She had this advice for any people considering fostering a child in the near future:
