People across the Shannonside Region are being warned to watch out for bogus tradesmen in the wake of Storm Eowyn. Gardaí are advising the public to be careful with unannounced visitors over the coming days. Gardaí say they're also aware of scam texts claiming to be from the ESB and other authorities doing the rounds.
Shannonside FM News has received reports of bogus tradesmen calling door to door in North Longford this afternoon. The public are advised not to engage with them and contact Gardaí if they have any concerns. Local Councillor Paraic Brady says these scammers target vulnerable people in rural areas:
