The Permanent TSB branch in Roscommon is to lose its cash services.
The move comes as the bank confirmed its commitment to keep all 76 Irish branches open. Cash will no longer be accepted at branches in Cavan Roscommon and Monaghan from April 19th.
In local branches, and 42 others across the country, it's intended that quick banking machines and increased digital supports will be introduced to free up staff to support customers. It means people will now have to travel to Athlone if they wish to lodge money.
The news comes just weeks after Ulster Bank announced its intention to withdraw all banking services from Ireland, and Bank of Ireland confirmed the closure of a number of local branches.
Director for Retail Banking at PTSB, Patrick Farrell says "branches will change but they don't have to disappear".
