A Leitrim secondary school has applied for planning permission to develop a new eight classroom block.
Carrick-on-Shannon Community school are seeing the green light to build a new two storey extension on the south east side of the existing school that will include eight new classrooms, a home economics room, art room, two science labs, and a music room.
The block will also include two special education tuition rooms, student and staff toilets, a boiler room and all associated site works including a new carpark layout and ball court.
The Board of management of the school are also hoping planners will allow the school demolish two existing prefabs, a shed and a container
A decision is due by early November.
