Boyle Garda Station is set for a facelift under new plans from the Office of Public Works.
A planning application on behalf of the OPW has been lodged with Roscommon County Council calling for significant works to be carried out on the front of the station.
The new development calls for the removal of the existing front door, ramp, steps, paving and trees outside of the station to make way for a new entrance walkway.
Designs for the refurbishment call for a single story glazed lobby extension, new paving and railings.
Also included in the redevelopment of the building's front is a new Garda Lantern and pole, plants, shrubs and boundary railings for the forecourt.
County planners are due to make a decision on the plans in July.
