Plans are being progressed to construct a series of solar power panels at Strokestown Park House in Roscommon.
Irish Heritage Trust is applying for permission to install 50 sqaure metres of ground mounted Photovoltaics panels on the grounds of the 300 year old house and gardens.
The development, if successful, would generate a maximum yield of less than 11kilowatts.

Strokestown Park House is a protected structure located on the edge of the town it shares it's name with,
County planners will decide on the application in February.
