The higher planning authority has upheld a grant of permission to construct battery arrays at Corderry in Leitrim.
Brookfield Renewable Ireland Ltd had previously received permission for the installation of the arrays located within 16 shipping containers along with a control building and transformer.
The application had been granted in December 2020, before being subject to a planning appeal to An Bord Pleanála in January 2021.
Tracey McNamara lodged the appeal over concerns of risk of explosion and fire, the use of shipping containers and the lack of a monetary bond lodged with the council.
However, the higher planning authority reject the appeal and granted the permission with revised planning conditions.
These include a requirement to pay a financial contribution and a separate deposit to the planning authority.
