Drugmaker Perrigo has settled a 1.6 billion euro tax dispute with Revenue for 297 million euro.
The 2018 bill was based on the property rights of the sale of the Tysabri drug by Elan, which had an operation in Athlone.
Elan was bought by Perrigo in 2013.
The bill is thought to be the largest ever issued by Revenue,
Perrigo previously lost a High Court challenge against the tax bill, but it had remained before the Tax Appeals Commission.
However the company says it has now reached a settlement due to the continued risks and costs of litigation.
