Person of interest identified after woman's body found in south Roscommon

A person of interest has been identified after a woman's body was found in south Roscommon.

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the death of 58-year-old Mirjana Pap, from Croatia.

The person of interest has not been arrested in connection with her death, but is in custody about a different matter.

Mirjana was found dead on farmland near Taughmaconnell on Monday - after vanishing from her home in Beechville, Athlone, two days earlier.

This neighbour says Mirjana had lived in the area for over 20 years and had three children.
