Peter Burke leads first trade mission as Enterprise Minister

Minister for Enterprise and local TD Peter Burke has paid tribute to local business leaders operating in the US during a major trade mission to the East Coast. The joint Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland Trade and Investment Mission to New York and Boston was aimed at increasing sales for Irish companies in the US and encouraging further investment back home.

As part of the five-day mission, Minister Burke held over 33 meetings and engaged with a number of significant US companies including Boston Scientific, IBM and JP Morgan. It was the first major trade mission for the new Enterprise Minister, who highlighted the close connections between the New York/Boston area and Longford and Westmeath.
