The Chief Executive of the Men's Network which has been involved in a pilot programme among farmers in Roscommon and Waterford says there was huge appetite in both counties for the scheme.
The Men's Network is a non-profit organisation based in Waterford with the key focus on being leaders in promoting change and equality within society.
A six week programme run in Roscommon saw 64 farmers from the county gather for discussion for one evening each week on topics like mental health, and self-care.
The project was funded by the Department of Agriculture under the European Innovation Partnership.
Sean Cooke from the Men's Network says there was a hugely positive response to the programme and they're hoping to roll it out nationwide in partnership with other agri projects.
He says he was very struck by the depth of feeling the farmers revealed during the discussions.
