Planning permission has been granted for the development of a new play centre in Mullingar.
The project was proposed by Annabel's Adventure Land Ltd and is intended to avail of the EU Just Transition Fund under the Regeneration Tourism and Placemaking Scheme.
The development consists of an educational play centre with sensory rooms, a coffee shop, pet farm, an outdoor play and AstroTurf area, as well as a fairy walk.
Car parking, a sewage treatment system, and all associated site works are also included in the submission.
Local councillor David Jones backed the submission during its planning stage, describing it as a 'great project for the area' that 'would meet a demand for a service badly needed.'
Westmeath County Planners have approved the application with 11 conditions attached.
