Planning permission granted for the construction of a 90 bed nursing home in Westmeath has been appealed to An Bord Pleanala.
WHS Property Holdings Ltd had their application approved by Westmeath County Council for the three storey building in Robins-town, Mullingar.
Plans call for the construction of 81 residential units holding 90 beds, along with a single storey coffee shop and new vehicular road access.
The residential units would be split up into two 2 storey detached apartment blocks and a range of 2 storey and bungalow homes.
Planning was granted with 26 conditions attached, one including the developer pay a fee of three hundred and sixty four thousand six hundred and sixty six euro.
An appeal has now been lodged against the permission with the higher planning authority.
A decision will be made in July.
