Planning application lodged for astro pitch at Longford school

A national school in Longford town has applied to the County Council for the construction of a new astro turf pitch.

The Board of Management of Scoil Eimear on the Ballinalee Road have applied to local planners for the development of a 60 metre by 30 m 3G Astro Turf pitch behind the school building.

The plans call for the construction of an ancillary metal cage surrounding the pitch, netting and new footpaths connecting to the development.

County planners are due to make their decision on the project in September.
