A planning application seeking to develop a hostel in Boyle has been withdrawn following a number of objections. The developer had planned to transform the property into hostel accommodation for up to 40 people. A decision was due last Friday on the development at Abbey Terrace on the Sligo Road.
However, the initial application, submitted on November 16th last year, after it received over 40 objections. Local group 'Boyle Concerned Locals' had established an online petition against the development. The group had expressed concerns that the accommodation would be used to house refugees. It took to social media last weekend to thank those who had submitted objections and signed its petition.
