Planners have given the green light for a significant housing development at Priors Point in Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim.
The development will see the construction of 41 new housing units, a pumping station and the relocation of underground gas tanks.
The application has been submitted by KDM Construction Limited and comprise of 2 two bedroom houses, 25 three bed houses, 13 four bed units and 1 five bed residence.
The development has been the subject of multiple submissions from local residents, with many referencing concerns over the density of the development and traffic issues accessing the site.
Permission was granted with 18 conditions attached, including a development charge of €160,000 and a deposit of €280,000 to be used by the local authority should outstanding work remain on the site.
