Planning permission has been granted for a massive housing development in Mullingar. Andrews Construction Ltd had applied for permission for 245 homes on the Dublin Road at Petitswood in Mullingar. The development will be constructed on 9 hectares of land off the Dublin Road and would be comprised of 70 four bed homes, 132 three bed houses and a mix of duplexes and apartments with roof mounted solar panels. As part of the plans, the applicants have included a childcare facility, 442 car parking spaces, 550 bike spaces and close to 1.75 hectares of open space.
The open space will include a biodiversity corridor and all associated hard and soft landscaping. Access to the development will be via the R392 Dublin Road and the L1133 Ardmore Road. The plans were approved with 27 conditions attached including contributions of close to 1 million euro and insurance bond of 1.4 million euro.
