The new Planning Bill, which passed through the Dáil earlier this week, has been criticised by a local architect. The legislation was described by Government as a 'once in a generation reform' but received heavy opposition. An Bórd Pleanála will be reorganised, the Judicial Review process will be changed while ten-year plans are to be introduced for local authorities. However, architect and former Mayor of Athlone, Louise Heavin says it's not the right solution. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show, she said the new bill will not solve current issues in planning:
