An Bord Plenala is due to make a decision on a planning application for a new Hartley Bridge by the end of June.
Last November Leitrim County Council lodged planning to remove the current structure and to replace it with a new bridge 25 metres downstream.
It was hoped that a decision would be reached by the middle of this year to allow the Council tender for the project and for construction to begin before the end of the year with a view to opening the bridge in 2023.
An Bord Pleanla has now confirmed to Shannonside FM that there is a 'tentative' decision date of the 28th of June for the application.
