The 24 metre lattice structure had been approved by Roscommon County Council for construction at the Eir Exchange on the Circular Road in Ballaghaderreen to replace an existing 15 metre structure.

Planning permission for a telecom mast in Roscommon has been appealed to the high planning authority.

The 24 metre lattice structure had been approved by Roscommon County Council for construction at the Eir Exchange on the Circular Road in Ballaghaderreen to replace an existing 15 metre structure.

The application from Towercom Limited includes a one metre high raised foundation and will host antennas, dishes and ground based equipment

An appeal has now been lodged by Friends of the Environment CLG against the plans for the mast in Ballaghaderreen.

An Bord Pleanála will decide on the issue in March of next year.
