Athlone Tennis Club are urging local businesses to support them as they progress towards a major upgrade to their town center courts.
The club this week recived the go ahead from Westmeath County Planners to construct an airdome at their site on the Ballymahon Road.
Air domes are air supported structures that are designed to roof all manner of sports pitches and courts.
The free standing structure are generally a large clear span, covered with one or more layers of special PVC coated fabric and anchored to the ground, with air pressure used to keep the structure static.
Pat Conroy from Athlone Tennis club is encouraging both the public and local companies to row in behind them and help support the development.
