Two well known local factories have received the go ahead to expand their production facilities.
The decisions announced this week will see both companies progress works at sites in Longford.
Glennon Brothers Timber Limited on the N4 outside of Longford Town have got the go ahead to construct a new metal building for light manufacturing and storage.
Plans include the construction of a new 2,421 square metre building and all ancillary works.
Planners attached 15 conditions to the grant of permission including a developer contribution of €74,000.
Separately, well known agri-business Kiernan Milling has gotten the green light for the expansion of it's north Longford production hub.
The Granard factory was awarded planning permission for the redesign and extension of existing staff and customer carpark and the decommissioning of the existing entry and access road serving the car park.
Also contained in the plans is the creation of a new entrance and access road to service the proposed redesigned carpark.
County planners granted the application with 9 conditions attached, including a ruling that all car parking be in keeping with the Longford County Development Plan.
