Planning permission has been granted for the extraction of stone, sand, and gravel in Bealnamulla.
Eamon Harney applied to Roscommon County Council for the extraction of the materials over an area of 4.9 hectares for a 10 year period.
Also included in the application is the construction of offices, welfare facilities, a water settlement pond and car/truck parking.
Also contained in the development's infrastructural work is the installation of a petrol oil interceptor, fencing, landscaping, weighbridge and wheel wash.
Roscommon County Planners granted the permission with 27 conditions attached including payment of a development contribution of €103,000 and that dust monitoring points be installed
