Planning permission has been granted for the construction of a purpose built childcare facility in Athlone.
Marina Quarter Ltd submitted the application in June 2022 for the two storey development in Cornamaddy.
Plans include classrooms, reception, kitchen, staff areas and storage areas, along with roof mounted solar panels.

The applicants are also seeking to build a secure outdoor play area, 18 car parking spaces and 20 bicycle parking spaces.
It's planned that the facility would be part of a larger development in the area.
County planners approved the application with 11 conditions attached.

These include a requirement for a development contribution of over €18,000.
