A well known Longford secondary school is seeking planning permission for a significant expansion.
The plans for Templemicheal College in the town have been submitted by the Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board.
The application includes a new stand alone two storey gym building, single story extension to include two special needs classrooms and a new site entrance, roadway and path to the school.

The college is also seeking to relocate the soccer pitch and increase car parking at the secondary school.
County Planners will decide on the issue in April.
