A local League of Ireland team have applied for a significant upgrade of their home ground.
Athlone Town Football Club are seeking to expand the facilities at their stadium in Lissywollen.
Plans submitted to Westmeath County Council are seeking a new spectator standing terrace at the Bawny Road end of the pitch, including signage and access gangways.
Also proposed in the application is the construction of a two storey building to include a ladies changing room, fitness suite and a first floor covered balcony.
The club moved to the Athlone Town Stadium in 2007 and has been playing at the ground since.
Westmeath County planners will decide on the application in April.
