The Minister for Local Government and Planning has been meeting councillors and officials in Leitrim today.
Minister Kieran O'Donnell has been discussing town centre enhancement and local housing projects along with vacancy and dereliction issues.The difficulty in securing planning permission for one off housing in the county is also expected to be put to the Minister.
Poor soil percolation in parts of the county has prevented the construction of some houses, which , if built, would contravene water quality standards.The Minister has been attending Leitrim County Council Headquarters over the last number of hours.
