A number of objections have been lodged about a planned new housing development in Cornamaddy Athlone.
The planning application lodged by a Kildare based company wants to increase permission previously granted to 38 units, by another 32 , bring the total number up to 70.
The majority of the houses would be three-bedroom semi-detached.
Objections lodged have raised concerns about biodiversity in the local area and how that would be affected.
It's understood there are a number of badger 'setts' across the land involved and the planning application states that work would be carried out to construct an artificial 'sett' for the animals.
