Planning permission has been approved for a new LIDL store in Ballymahon. LIDL Ireland Gmbh had applied for the demolition of a former school building on Main Street and the construction of a single storey discount food store. The building would include 2,300 square metres of gross floor space with a retail area of 1,490 square metres, with the roof featuring mounted solar panels.
The plans include the construction of a new footpath, access road and vehicular and pedestrian access points. The site would see car and bicycle spaces, a covered trolley bay, EV charging points and public lighting. The plans were approved with 20 conditions attached.
