A Leitrim based charity is set to benefit from a new premises.
North West Stop, a suicide prevention charity based in Drumkeerin, has been officially granted conditional planning permission for a new hub in the former Garda Station in the village.
The development involves the conversion of the station and the existing dwelling into a new office space and linking access between the two.
Vice-Chairman of North West Stop, Padraig Fallon, says the news is a huge positive step for services in the region.
"It's not just great news for Drumkeerin, but also for the region because the services are provided throughout the region and we've received the notification that planning has gone through. The planning is for change of use, to create office space, and internal access. We're looking to continue the services, the much needed services that are provided, like counselling".
