The Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo employs over 100 people in the region and is well known for its Irish Gunpowder Gin brand.
Leitrim County Planners have given the go ahead to plans for a new two storey extension to the rear of the existing visitor experience building.
Plans include the creation of an extended kitchen, a bar/function room, accommodation at ground floor level and staff office and welfare facilities at first floor level.
Also included in the application is the retention of an existing outdoor canopy structure, a canopy to cover the rear delivery area and the construction of a gazebo to the rear of the proposed extension.
The planning permission was granted with 14 conditions attached.
