Plans to expand a Longford graveyard have been given the go ahead by the County Council.
An application to extend Cullyfad graveyard was submitted to local planners in September of last year.
The extension will make use of the soccer field adjacent to the cemetery with space zoned out for further extensions in the future.
The plans incorporate setting new boundaries around the site and boundary planting, along with the building of a new caretaker's shed.
Cemeteries and Graveyards must follow strict rules around the suitability, geology and height of a potential location.
A decision on the application from Fr Sean Casey was delayed in order to receive an engineers report on trial holes made on site.
The permission was granted this week with 6 conditions attached.
