Meanwhile, an application for planning permission for the construction of a new LIDL store in Ballymahon has been officially lodged.
The Company had announced their intention to apply at the start of the month, with Lidl Ireland Gmbh seeking to build the store on Main Street including the Church View Backlands.
The plans include the demolition of the former St. Matthews National School and the construction of a single storey Discount Foodstore with 2,291 square metres of gross floor space.
The application also seeks the provision of car and cycle parking, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and roof mounted solar panels.
The developer is planning for the construction of a new access road from the Church View road, providing vehicular and pedestrian access to the site.
County planners will decide on the case in July.
