The development would consist of 12 two bed houses in 2 terraced blocks and 6 one bedroom houses in 2 blocks.

Plans include the six 3 bed, two storey semi detached homes and eight two bed, two storey terraced dwellings.

The application was the subject of 80 submissions by local residents who were heavily opposed to the development.

An application for the construction of 130 new residential units was granted by An Bord Pleanála this week.

The permission was granted with 5 conditions attached.
