The decision of Longford County planners to refuse permission for a new pharmacy at a local medical centre has been upheld.
X Pharmacy Ltd had applied to Longford County Council for the proposed change of use of part of a GP Medical practice into a pharmacy.
The plans were put forward for the Longford Medical Park in Ballyminion outside of the town.
The plans had been refused by Longford County Council in February of this year over issues with the zoning of the land and concerns around establishing a pharmacy in an industrial unit.
The refusal was appealed to An Bord Pleanála who upheld the council's decision.
One issue raised in their decision was that anyone not using a car to access the site outside of the town would be put at a disadvantage.
