Longford planners have refused permission for the completion of an existing housing development near Ballymahon. Peter Byrne had successfully applied to build 26 homes at Drimanure in Abbeyshrule, with the homes consisting of 2 storey detached houses, with permission granted in 2005.

A new application was submitted in recent months seeking to construct 6 two storey homes which are currently at structural slab level and 5 new units which have not been started. The plans also called for a permission to finish all external works, utilities and services as granted under the previous permission. Local planners have refused the new application from Mr Byrne.
